Rocky Mountain added a wagon-wheel version to its cross-country race lineup a couple of years ago and it hasn't looked back. The Element 950 utilizes all the high-tech frame innovations of Rocky's top-of-the-line race bike, the 970, with a few more affordable components so it wouldn't take such a big bite out of your wallet. The first thing you'll notice when you see the 950 is the sexy hydroformed steel tubing. FORM 7005 series aluminum tubing is ultra-stiff and extremely lightweight due the absolute lack of extra material. The 950 utilizes Rocky Mountain's Smoothlink suspension system, which dramatically reduces chain growth to eliminate pedal bob. The 950 also employs ABC angular contact polymer bushings to reduce weight and stiffen the rear end.
